Breast Reduction in Bloomington, IL

Breast Reduction

Breast reduction surgery is much more common than one would think. Women with large pendulous and/or heavy breasts that would like to be more proportionate to their frame for cosmetic reasons or symptomatic relief are perfect candidates for this type of surgery. This is one of Dr. Tattini’s most common surgeries at his Bloomington, Illinois office and also most satisfying as most patients are very grateful for the improved quality of life.

Breast Reduction Surgery

This surgery entails removing skin and breast tissue to effectively remove mass from the breast while simultaneously lifting the breast by excising and tightening skin. The reduction in mass often reduces back/neck/shoulder pain and therefore this procedure has a significant functional component as well. Breast reduction surgery is typically one of the top 5 procedures performed in the country. Its combination of cosmetic and functional improvement makes this a procedure with a very high satisfaction rate.

What Is Recovery Like After Breast Reduction Surgery?

Recovery after a breast reduction is minimal primarily because this surgery doesn’t typically address muscle. Just skin, fat, and glandular tissue is excised and repositioned and so my patients typically only need pain meds for a few days.
