Renuvion is a revolutionary cosmetic treatment that offers a range of benefits to individuals who are looking to improve the appearance of their skin. This treatment combines the power of radiofrequency energy with helium gas to give patients a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

Renuvion is a non-invasive treatment that can be used to address a number of common cosmetic concerns, such as loose skin, wrinkles, and fine lines.

The procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia and takes only a few hours to complete.

One of the primary benefits of Renuvion is that it uses a cutting-edge technology called J-Plasma to deliver radiofrequency energy to the skin. This energy is applied in the form of a cool gas that is carefully synchronized with the radiofrequency energy. This combination of energy and gas creates a plasma effect that provides a precise and gentle tightening of the skin.

Unlike traditional cosmetic treatments that require extensive downtime and recovery, Renuvion patients can expect minimal downtime and recovery periods. Patients typically experience some swelling and bruising after the procedure, but this tends to subside quickly and does not usually interfere with normal activities or work.

Another key benefit of Renuvion is that it is minimally invasive, which means that patients can avoid surgery and the risks that come with it. This makes Renuvion a good option for patients who are looking for a minimally invasive way to improve the appearance of their skin.

Renuvion is generally considered to be a safe and effective cosmetic treatment. However, as with any cosmetic procedure, there are risks and potential complications that must be considered. Patients should always consult with a licensed and experienced cosmetic surgeon before undergoing any type of cosmetic procedure.

In conclusion, Renuvion is a cutting-edge cosmetic treatment that offers a range of benefits for patients looking to improve the appearance of their skin. Whether you’re looking to tighten loose skin, reduce wrinkles, or eliminate fine lines, Renuvion can provide a safe, minimally invasive, and effective solution. If you’re interested in exploring Renuvion as a cosmetic treatment option, be sure to consult with an experienced and licensed cosmetic surgeon to learn more about the benefits and risks associated with this treatment.

What is Renuvion?

Renuvion (formerly J-Plasma or J Plasty) is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation and firming treatment that is FDA-cleared for:

  1. Treating moderate to severe wrinkles and rhytides (aka lines) in patients with Fitzpatrick skin types I–III (via the Renuvion Dermal Handpiece), a treatment its manufacturer refers to as “facial renewal”
  2. Addressing skin laxity on the neck and under the chin (the submental area), using the Renuvion APR Handpiece
  3. Tightening loose skin on the body, following liposuction, with the Renuvion APR Handpiece (a new indication announced by the FDA in April 2023)

Renuvion works by delivering a precise stream of cold plasma energy—created by energizing helium gas with radiofrequency (RF) waves—to the surface of the skin, as a resurfacing treatment, or underneath it (“subdermally”), using a long, thin tube called a cannula.

Subdermally, the combination of high-energy heat and the plasma’s cold temperature causes collagen to contract and skin to tighten.

Via inconspicuous, tiny incisions, the device delivers energy to the underside of the skin, instantly firming from the inside out, with the built-in safety of tissue cooling (courtesy of the helium gas).

Results continue to improve as the body heals and new collagen forms.

The skin tightening treatment is commonly paired with liposuction, for optimal body contouring results.

Someone with more severe skin laxity, particularly after extreme weight loss or multiple pregnancies, usually are not a good candidate for this procedure alone. In that situation, plastic surgeons generally recommend a surgical procedure, like a tummy tuck, to remove significant excess skin.
